After finishing A levels, my plan was to gain as much acting and life experience as possible before applying to drama schoo. I came across YAFTA and applied, as I’d never done any screen acting before. The diploma course has been so much more beneficial than I ever thought it would be. I’ve learnt a huge amount through the training - some techniques specific to screen acting, but also other principles relating to the interpretation of text, voice, movement etc that apply to both stage and screen. When acting, I am now considering things that I would have never thought about before. YAFTA has also really improved my understanding of the industry. My teachers are excellent, I’ve made amazing friends, and I’ve now gained a place at LAMDA, which I feel sure I would not have done without YAFTA’s training. I would very highly recommend applying!
