Daniel Thrace

Daniel Thrace is an actor and filmmaker, as well as a writer. Having starred in feature films with Yorkshire based production company Dark Rift Films, and working as a 1st and 3rd assistant director on the features; Destination, Dewsbury, and Scott and Sid, he has a broad experience of working in the film industry.

Daniel’s background is one of practical experience over the course of 8 years working in the industry, and he brings this to the YAFTA evening classes for adults and teens on Wednesday nights in York.

Amy Fincham

Amy has always had a passion for the acting industry. Amy started with National Youth theatre and then when on to study Acting for Stage and Screen at Guildford PPA.

Working as an actor and workshop facilitator, she has worked with prestigious regional theatres and British independent films.

Amy works hard in teaching work to encourage and enable others to be the best they can be.

Vicky Bevic

Vicky is a Chartered marketing and communications professional with over 18 years’ experience across a variety of sectors and industries. Her media industry experience and background includes being a Marketing Director for a national TV company, an executive producer on several TV shows and working on consumer campaigns with both ITV and BBC. Vicky is responsible for YAFTA marketing and media promotions and enquiries.

Rick Laxton (Guest Tutor)

Charlotte is the Managing Director of YAFTA. She is a TV Presenter, Actress, and Agent. Charlotte also owns YAFTA Talent Agency and YAFTA Consultancy. Charlotte is currently working as a TV Presenter for various companies including Made in Leeds TV. In 2015 Charlotte had her own TV show called ‘Challenge Charlotte’ which aired across the Made Network in Leeds, Tyne & Wear, Bristol and Cardiff, the show is set for a second series in 2016. She also played the role of Hannah O’Rourke in BBC1’s Happy Valley and played various roles in TV Comedy Sketch Show ‘Cool Beans’.

In January 2016, Charlotte filmed the part of Jane in Coronation Street. She will also be one of the judges for Made in Leeds’ TV Programme ‘Star Made’.

Daniel Gray

Daniel trained with Trinity Guildhall London and UoN School of the arts, where he received a BA HONS in Acting. After graduating, Daniel co-founded and directed several successful shows with Phonebox theatre company, most reputably ‘The End’ which was a huge success. Daniel has worked with various theatre companies in the UK and abroad, alongside some of the biggest and emerging names in British television & theatre.

Although predominantly a theatre actor, Daniel is no stranger to the screen and has appeared in various television programmes as well as films.

Daniel’s directing style focuses heavily on Laban and Stanislavskian techniques to get the best out of his actors. Alongside his directing, Daniel is an advocate for the importance of voice, and often leads workshops as a vocal coach.

David Zezulka

David trained at LAMDA and has worked professionally as an actor for fifteen years across stage and screen. He also has BA in Drama from the University of Hull and an MA in creative practice from the University of Leeds.

Recent professional screen credits include The Moorside for the BBC, feature films Dark River and The Rise, and commercials for Johnstone’s Paint and Northern Rail.

David has also performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, The BAC and many other Off-West End theatres and played in several productions of Shakespeare. He has appeared in numerous short and independent festival films.

David is an integral part of the YAFTA team having worked with the organisation since the very beginning and continues to enjoy teaching the academy’s actors in training

Lucy Mizen

John Gully

John is a drama school trained actor having trained at Mountview. He has been an actor for 25 years and has an extensive career in TV and Theatre.

Recent TV includes Home Fires, Happy Valley, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and the film Dusty and Me.

John’s theatre career has taken him all around the world, having worked for the RSC, Northern Broadsides, Hull Truck, SJT Scarborough and Birmingham Rep.

He has also featured in many major advertising campaigns such as Sony, Magnet Kitchens, Nimble Bread, Carlsberg, Tetley and Halifax. John is delighted to be joining YAFTA and is looking forward to meeting actors of various ages and experiences in order to broaden our knowledge of this wonderful business called SHOW!

Will Drury

Will is an Acting BA (Hons) graduate from the University of Hull. He is currently working towards his PGCE and has vast experience in screen acting having played a number of lead and supporting roles in short and feature films. Will is looking forward to bringing his passion for teaching and screen acting to YAFTA.
