How long have you been acting and with YAFTA Talent Agency?
I joined YAFTA in 2014 so really in its early days. I love Film and TV and therefore the acting classes were a perfect fit for me.
What do you love about the industry?
I know it might sound strange but I really enjoy the pressure of delivering to camera when there are 40 or 50 people behind it at that moment when the director calls action. Also let’s face it…it’s exciting as anything can happen.
What are the key skills/attributes you think someone needs to work in the industry?
You need to have a strong mindset to handle rejection and failure in a positive way and not dwell on it. This is a business so art is a big part of it and therefore you have to be professional and consistent in everything you do.
What advice would you give someone looking to get into film and TV acting?
Everyone has different reasons for getting into tho industry however the main driver should not be ironically about becoming famous. We do this because we love acting and fame is a fantastic add on.
Which film or TV episodes would you choose to a) Watch on repeat b) See for the first time, c)Wouldn’t watch again?
I love The Godfather as that in itself is an acting masterclass from Brando, De Niro and Pacino. The film I’d watch for the first time would be ‘The Long Good Friday ‘. Bob Hoskins was an amazing actor……just watch the end sequence, no dialogue, just him and amazing close up acting. The film I would never see again is ‘Love Actually’. I lost the will after 10 minutes.
