YAFTA Courses for Learning Disabled Artists
The Yorkshire Academy of Film & Television Acting are working in collaboration with Mind The Gap Theatre to run a termly 11 week Acting for Screen course. This course is held at Mind The Gap Studios in Bradford and is open to anyone aged 16 years and over who has a learning disability and a passion for acting.
Our actors from Mind The Gap have gone on to gain agency representation and have landed regular roles in major productions such as Coronation Street and BBC Doctors.
Students on our 11 week Acting for Screen Course will participate in weekly filming and playback activities to enable them to see how their performance translates on screen.
Ongoing Screen Acting Course for actors with learning disabilities aged 14 years plus. The next course starts in September and will run for the full academic year. Students can apply to join during the year but we advise that people join in September.
The 11 week course runs, Every Friday from 10am to 3pm

You can rest assured that YAFTA teachers:
£40 per day payable termly in advance at £440 for the full 11 week course. It is possible to join part way through the term.
Eligibility: For Learning Disabled artists only aged over 16 years of age.
