An essential part of being a successful actor is knowing how to create a character from what you are given in the script. At the YAFTA Characterisation Masterclass we help you demystify the process of characterisation! Led by experienced and professional drama school graduates, this three hour workshop will take you through the process of understanding and approaching character work, help you explore the types of character you can play and hone your characterisation technique.

In this masterclass you will gain detailed knowledge of what it means to create a character and where to begin, with a range of tools and techniques designed to suit actors in every medium and useful to beginners and working professionals alike. The ability to quickly develop well-rounded, in-depth characters is a respected skill that will make you memorable at audition and help you stand out on stage or on screen. The workshop is ideal for those who want to stretch themselves beyond a one-hour class or who are looking for more intensive character work in preparation for professional auditions or an upcoming role.
