The YAFTA Acting for Screen Diploma is an 18-month, part time, blended learning course. The diploma has been designed for those with little or no experience of the acting industry who wish to undertake intensive training to equip them with the necessary tools and experience to progress from beginner to professional actor within 18 months.

Our students follow a structured syllabus which has been designed by a team of graduates from the world’s top drama schools including; RADA, LAMDA, Central School of Speech and Drama, ALRA and LIPA, and Occupational and Business Psychologists who specialise in assessment and selection, specifically, the design and delivery of examination processes.

blended learning

YAFTA Acting for Screen Diploma

This is a blended learning course requiring 3 full contact days per month, which run on either Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday at our studio in Leeds. Each cohort will attend on the same day for the first three weeks of every month. In addition to the contact hours, there is a distance learning aspect of the course and mentoring programme which must be completed.

The YAFTA Acting for Screen Diploma course qualifies students for Equity Student Membership.

Certifications

YAFTA Acting for Screen Diploma

Throughout the course, students will work on developing their craft as well as their industry skills knowledge and experience. Students will be required to pass the YAFTA Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Certifications in Screen Acting to be able to achieve the full diploma award.

In addition to this, students will be mentored throughout the course. Your mentor will guide you through the industry aspects of the course to ensure that you are Spotlight ready upon completion of the course. You mentor will advise you of the next steps that you need to take throughout the course to enable you to start working as a professional actor.

Spread your course fees over a period of up to 5 years. Subject to application.

How to apply

The next diploma intake is January 2018 with a February 2018 start date. For this cohort attendance will be required for on a Sunday. Second round auditions will take place on Saturday 13th January 2018.
