Through an engaging, exciting and collaborative environment, we endeavour to develop highly competent actors who exhibit a proactive and professional attitude towards their career, craft and education. We encourage the development of a number of important transferable skills which will aid students in their personal lives, school education and working lives.
We believe that in order to teach acting you must have trained in it yourself at a high level. All YAFTA tutors are drama school trained, have professional screen acting experience in mainstream film & TV work, are paediatric first aid qualified and hold DBS certification when working with children or vulnerable adults. Our class sizes are kept small to ensure that students get the most out of their education at YAFTA.
Our students have auditioned for or gone to secure roles in major film and TV productions including; Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Happy Valley, In The Club, Hollyoaks, Holby City, Casualty, Game of Thrones, Homeland, The Current War, Funny Cow, Love Lies and Records, Armchair Detectives, Outlander, Cold Feet, Last Tango in Halifax and many other productions from the BBC, ITV, CBBC, Nickelodeon and more.
